Who We Are
Who we are, how we think about learning, and how we build Provident.
We build AI-native learning tools to help close learning gaps for every child through experiences that are joyful, accessible, simple to use, and designed to work in schools, virtual learning centres, and homes.
We are grounded in Dr. Palko’s interdisciplinary research—drawing on Philosophy, Cognitive Science, Education, Nonlinear Systems Theory, and Theory of Language—and we build in collaboration with literacy, early childhood, and pedagogy specialists across the US, the UK, and Ireland.
Our Philosophy
Learner-first design: We start with the learner experience. We optimise for clarity, engagement, accessibility, and routines that work in real classrooms and homes—not just in demos.
Evidence-led product development: We care about learning signals—what a learner can do—and we improve responsibly based on evidence, not guesswork.
AI that supports instruction: We use AI to personalise and adapt learning while staying aligned with sound pedagogy. Our goal is not automation for its own sake, but better learning outcomes with transparency for the adults supporting children.
Built for real contexts: We design our products to fit into existing school, centre, and home learning environments without high-friction setup or brittle processes.
Dr. Palko’s Theory Applied to Learning
Our work is shaped by Dr. Palko’s Theory of Knowledge and Learning. In simple terms, the theory sees learning as the process of making meaning by building relationships—between ideas, words, actions, patterns, and experiences. Teaching, then, is helping learners connect the dots in a way that becomes coherent and usable.
For teachers, this means we care about more than whether a child got an item right or wrong. We care about whether the child is building the relationships that support real understanding: connecting sounds to letters, words to meanings, and ideas across a sequence of learning. It also means we value scaffolding, manageable cognitive load, repeated exposure, and next steps that are practical in real teaching contexts.
Why We Exist
We want learning tools to be:
- Accessible — Designed for diverse learners and practical constraints.
- Engaging — Motivating and enjoyable to use.
- Research- and evidence-backed — Grounded in interdisciplinary theory and improved through observed outcomes.
- Easy to deploy — Built for real-world rollouts with clear roles, manageable setup, and scalable administration.
- Responsible in their use of AI — Personalisation driven by learning evidence, with adult visibility into progress and recommendations.
What Our Platform Includes
Our platform typically includes:
- Web portals for admins and educators
- Learner apps where children complete learning experiences
- Content and pathways designed for measurable progress
- Progress and reporting for educators, coaches, and families
- Personalisation systems that adapt learning based on evidence and performance signals
Who We Serve
We support teams working with children in a variety of contexts:
- Schools
- Virtual learning centres
- After-school and tutoring programmes
- Home learning with adult guidance
Security, Privacy, and Child Data Safety
We treat children’s data safety as a first-priority responsibility across our software, systems, and day-to-day practices.
We design our products and workflows to handle data carefully, limit access appropriately, and support responsible use in school and learning settings. We do not sell data, and we do not run advertising in our apps.
We aim to be thoughtful about what data is collected, why it is needed, and how it supports learning, safeguarding, reporting, and product reliability. Privacy and security are not add-ons for us—they are part of how we build.
When to Use Provident
